What is Back2School?

Once a year all clubs unite to see vision become reality, fuse passion with action, and to make a difference in a world where change is imperative.

On Wednesday the 6th of September, students and clubs from across UTS will take part in a student-run fundraising initiative to support the education of children in the developing world through the children’s educational services of HEED Bangladesh. Students show their support for the cause by collecting sponsorship in exchange for wearing their old school uniform to classes on Back-2-School Day.

Back-2-School is an initiative borne out of a desire expressed by the UTS Union and affiliated clubs to work together to support the worlds needy and provide an opportunity to enhance the campus community.

On the 6th of September (Back2School Day), participating students that have collected money from their sponsors will arrive at UTS in their school uniforms to show their support for the cause. A variety of events and activities will be held including:

  • A sausage sizzle
  • Horizontal bungie jumping
  • Handball competition
  • Retro Computer Games
  • Skipping
  • Back-2-School Games on the Alumni Green
  • Concourse stalls promoting the charity organisation and participating clubs
